Privacy Policy
This policy explains what information Cinder (“Cinder,” “we,” “us”) collects when you visit cindermeditation.com, apply for coaching, join our email list, or use our client portal, and how we use and protect it. We keep this simple: we collect only what we need to run the coaching practice, and we never sell your information.
Information you give us
- Coaching applications. Your name, email, role, company (optional), meditation experience, the reasons you selected, any message you write, and your time zone.
- Free group class invitations. Your email address and, if you provide it, your first name.
- Client portal. If you become a client: your account email, and the recordings, transcripts and written session analyses from your coaching sessions.
- Emails you send us. Whatever you choose to include.
The meditation survey runs entirely in your browser. Your answers are not sent to us or stored.
Information collected automatically
- Analytics. We use Google Analytics to understand how visitors use the site, such as pages viewed, approximate location, device and browser type, and whether someone submitted a form or opened the survey. Google Analytics uses cookies to do this. You can opt out with Google's browser add-on, and you can read how Google uses this data here.
- Server logs. Our hosting provider records standard technical data (such as IP address and browser type) to deliver and secure the site.
- Cookies and local storage. Besides analytics cookies, we use a sign-in cookie for the client portal and store a small note in your browser so the email invitation pop-up only appears once.
How we use your information
- To review your application and contact you about coaching.
- To send the free group class invitation you asked for, and related updates you can unsubscribe from anytime.
- To provide coaching services, including making your session recordings, transcripts and analysis available to you.
- To understand and improve the site and our content.
- To keep the site secure and comply with legal obligations.
Session transcripts and AI analysis
For clients, we generate a written analysis of each session from its transcript using Anthropic's Claude API. Transcripts are sent to Anthropic only to produce your analysis. Under Anthropic's commercial terms, API data is not used to train their models. Your recordings, transcripts and analyses are visible only to you and your coach.
Who we share information with
We do not sell or rent your personal information. We share it only with service providers that help us run Cinder:
- Vercel (website hosting)
- Supabase (secure database and client portal sign-in)
- Google (Google Analytics)
- Anthropic (session analysis for clients)
- FormSubmit or Resend (delivering form submissions to our inbox)
- Unsplash (some images on the site load from Unsplash's servers)
We may also disclose information if required by law or to protect the rights and safety of Cinder or others.
Not medical care
Cinder provides meditation instruction and coaching. We are not a healthcare provider, and our services are not medical or mental health treatment. Please don't send us health information you would not want handled as ordinary personal information.
How long we keep information
We keep application and email-list information until you ask us to delete it or it is no longer needed. Client session materials are kept for as long as you are a client and for a reasonable period afterward so you can access them, unless you ask us to delete them sooner.
Your choices and rights
You can ask to see, correct or delete your information, or to stop receiving emails, at any time by writing to ryan@ryanestes.info. Every email we send includes a way to unsubscribe. Depending on where you live (for example, California or the European Union), you may have additional rights, and we will honor them.
Security
We use reputable providers, encrypted connections (HTTPS), and access controls so that portal content is visible only to the right people. No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect your information.
Children
Cinder is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we will update the effective date above. Significant changes will be highlighted on the site.
